I'm certain there's been a discussion or two before, but I wanted to throw my two cents in here on casting for my favorite character, Casey.

I think Tracy Middendorf would be fantastic in the role of Casey, and a smart casting choice. She greatly resembles Casey in her expressions, and some of her guest appearances (scenery-chewing spots on Millenium and a recurring role on Beverly Hills 90210) give a good indication of her range.

The actress graduted from high school the same year as me, so, without revealing her age (punishable by death in twelve states), let's just say she's in that late twenties/early thirties category, and can believably play the young Casey, a few years out of high school or an older Casey, noticing Francine in a Houston restaurant.

Terry mentioned a while ago that he was adapting Volume One for the screen. I like the idea of the high school prologue. I hope it includes more of the story than that, like the whole High School miniseries.

"Cut to: 14 years later." How Farrellyesque! (of course here it would be about 10.)

There?s also been a indie adaption of I dream of you by an aspiring director. The film was sanctioned by Terry. I?m not sure if the project got finished though because of financial problems during the editing proces.

I?m afraid I haven?t got any more details than that. Can anybody help out?

Weeelll, sanctioned is a bit too strong of a word. Matthew Balthrop and G14 productions filmed an SiP movie, using the first volume as the story boards, and when the shooting was finished, he came and announced it on the board. Terry was very impressed, and gave Matt very large pats on the back for being so industrious, but he never put his support behind it(to my knowledge...)-legal stuff I would imagine. It was soon after Matt announced that he was beginning to edit the movie that Terry announced he was working on an SiP script. May or may not be any connection; he said his agent had finally convinced him that there was enough interest to warrant doing it.
Last I heard, matthew has had difficulties in completing the editing do to finances.

Sanctioned isn?t the right word, but I couldn?t think of another one at the time. But Terry didn?t approve of it either. Form what I can remember the final product would have been the disciding factor.

Still kind of curious what has happened since.
